We are Forces Help to Buy specialists
The Forces Help to Buy (FHTB) scheme is an interest free loan of up to £25,000 over 10 years. Our advisers can answer all your questions regarding the scheme.
Once your main mortgage application has been submitted, our Sales Support team will not only keep you updated about its progress, they will also keep you informed about the FHTB application too, speaking with your solicitors to ensure they are liaising with the Joint Personnel Administration Centre (JPAC) efficiently.
Our Background
We have been giving advice on mortgages and finding the best deals for our customers for over 10 years.
Our managing director, Graham, was one of the original founders of Mortgage Advice Bureau back in 1991 and has many years of experience running a successful mortgage brokerage.
Our first experience dealing with the military came when his son, who is currently serving, bought his first home using the Forces Help to Buy scheme (FHTB).
Since then, we have increasingly worked with military clients helping them to secure their new homes, both with, and without the use of the FHTB. So, as you can understand, supporting you, our Armed Forces, is at the heart of our business.
Now we’ve told you why this is important to us as a company, we thought we’d introduce you to some of the team you may encounter when take this journey with us.

Meet some of our Armed Forces Team
First, we have Craig, our FHTB specialist adviser. Craig joined PFL Mortgages in 2023, taking over from Graham as the specialist military adviser, and in some of his own words, this is why working closely with the military is important to him:
“I love my country and when Graham asked me if I wanted to become a specialist supporting military families with their mortgages, I seized the opportunity, as I want to show my gratitude to current serving personnel and their families.”
Secondly, we have our Marketing Manager/ Armed Forces Coordinator, Annie. Annie is involved in all the military aspects of the business, something which is very important to her, in her own words, this is why:
“My husband joined the military 9 years ago and has served across two of the services since then. It’s so important to me as the spouse of a serving person, to support families that look like mine. I am also passionate about supporting communities that sustain the military, which is why I am proud to be the Armed Forces Covenant Armed Forces Champion. We donate to SSAFA for every mortgage we complete for a military family, which is another way of us giving back to you.”
Giving back where we can
At PFL Mortgages, we are always looking at ways we can give back to the military community. We have partnered with the Armed Forces Covenant to show our commitment to our service people, veterans, and their families.
We also donate £50 to SSAFA for every mortgage we complete for a service family. Something else you may not know about us, is that we are big football fans! With the help of the Chairman of the RAF Brize Norton Inter-section Football League (BZN ISFL), we provided monies and sponsorship for a kit for the A400 Football Team, Atlas Force.
