Introduction Test (although won't be used)

  1. What is your role at PFL mortgages?

Mainly now a managing role to ensure the business runs smoothly. I still do some advising but mainly leave this to the other advisers.

  2. What do you enjoy most about your job?

Customer service, going above and beyond is my main focus for the business. It is therefore really satisfying to receive a glowing review from a customer, especially where they compare their experience to using brokers in the past. That makes me happy.

  3. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Watching football has always been part of my life. I have been watching Derby County for over 40 years at home and at over 80 away grounds. I also occasionally watch England play and as I love travelling I have managed to see them play in several different countries. My favourite UK holiday destination is St Ives in Cornwall, in Europe it’s Cyprus and worldwide I would say the Caribbean. I have visited 6 of the 7 continents, but the last one may prove a challenge (Antarctica). I also enjoy looking after our garden, so it looks at it’s best in summer for BBQs with family and friends.

  4. Do you have any pets?

Yes, one mad Border Collie called Rosie. She’s not that bad really… We also have our grandog Milo, a Sprocker Spaniel, living with us as he is currently ‘between’ houses.

  5. What is your pet peeve?

People who do not say Thank You when you hold a door open for them or whilst driving, when you stop to let another car through.

  6. What is something people may not know about you?

When I was younger, I developed an interest in crop circles. What caused them? Aliens? I thought it would be a good idea to take my wife Eleanor and one-year-old son Matthew camping in a Wiltshire field for a couple of nights to see for myself. I discovered 2 things. Firstly, that I believe all the circles are hoaxes (but I guess you knew that already). Secondly, that Eleanor will never ever go camping again in her life…
